Bodhi's Kitchen

Bodhi’s Kitchen is an independent artisan bakery and caterer nestled in the heart of West Worthing, West Sussex.

Founded in 2020 by self-taught pastry chef David Howland—and named affectionately after his late cat—the venture evolved from a passionate home-kitchen project into a celebrated local staple with a dedicated permanent shopfront on South Street in Tarring.

The bakery has earned a stellar reputation for its exceptional, scratch-made pastries, focusing on classic laminations with modern, creative twists. Visitors flock to the shop for its signature cruffins, flaky danishes, loaded croissant tarts, decadent cakes, and premium savoury bakes like gourmet sausage rolls and pies.

Operating with a strict commitment to quality, David highlights seasonal ingredients and collaborates with local suppliers, even sourcing meats from the butcher directly across the street.

Because everything is handcrafted on-site in small batches, the shop opens exclusively on Saturdays from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm (or until sold out), frequently drawing eager lines down the street.
